Quality Homes Start With Architerra

Renovate or Build

Renovating your home or custom building one both have their advantages and considerations. Here are some reasons why you might choose to renovate your home instead of opting for a custom build:

  1. Cost
Renovating a home can often be more cost-effective than building a custom home from scratch. Renovation costs typically depend on the extent of the renovations and can be more affordable than the expenses associated with new construction.
  2. Location
If you’re attached to the current location of your home, renovating allows you to stay in the same neighborhood, close to amenities, schools, and your existing social network. Building a custom home might require finding a new plot of land, potentially in a different location.
  3. Historical or sentimental value
Renovating an existing home can preserve its historical or sentimental value. If your home has a unique architectural style or holds personal significance, renovating allows you to maintain those characteristics while upgrading the property.
  4. Time Saving
Renovations generally take less time than building a custom home. Depending on the scope of the renovation, you can often complete the project more quickly compared to the time it takes to design, obtain permits, and construct a new house.
  5. Established Infrastructure
Renovating your home allows you to leverage the existing infrastructure, such as utilities, foundations, and landscaping. This can save you time, effort, and potentially additional costs associated with building from scratch.
  6. Environmental Impact
By renovating your home, you can reduce the environmental impact of construction. Reusing existing materials, appliances, and structures can be more sustainable compared to the resources required for a new build.
  7. Preservation of Character
Renovating your home enables you to preserve the unique character and charm of an older property. Retaining certain architectural elements, such as original woodwork or period features, can add character and enhance the overall appeal of the house.

Words from our Friends

Words will be never enough to thank Jeff and Leila for building the home of our dreams. We thought we would never be able to find a house that had it all without building it ourselves but this house had absolutely everything we could ever want and more. Every detail, from the stunning wooden beams, to the tiled fireplace, to the beautiful kitchen-with high end appliances and an incredibly long kitchen island for cooking and entertaining- is absolutely perfect. The house is not only stunning and of the highest quality craftsmanship, but practical and thoughtfully designed to accommodate our growing family. Jeff and Leila were lovely to work with and helped us transition into our home with ease, reliably and efficiently addressing the small nuances that inevitably come up with any new home. We cannot say enough good things about Architerra and would strongly recommend for anyone looking for their dream home!
